If it was a long list of applications, installing them again one by one from the Store can take a lot of time. So, today I will show you how you batch transfer or install Modern UI Style apps from the previous Windows 8 installation to the new one without breaking a sweat.

Remember

You can only reinstall these applications if you had linked your Windows 8 account to a Microsoft account. If you have not yet linked the account, you will have first link the old Windows 8 to an online account. Have a look at our guide on how to change local account to Microsoft account in Windows 8 for a better insight into the process.

Installing Apps

Having done that, launch Windows 8 Store from the Start Screen and right-click anywhere in the Store. After you right-click, you will see a bar at the top of the app. Select Your Apps to view all the apps you have installed and purchased till date. Note: If the Store does not load your apps, make sure you have added the device in the trusted list of devices. All you need to do is click on a confirmation link on the email you receive after you link the PC to an online account. Now click on the option Apps not installed on this PC  from the drop-down menu in the My Apps section. If you want to add an application from a specific device, select it from the drop-down menu and wait for the app to list all the available apps you can install. Now select the apps you would like to install individually or go for Select All option and click on the Install button. That’s all, the selected apps will be added to the download queue and will be installed one after another.

Conclusion

So that was how you can transfer and manage installed apps on all the linked Windows 8 devices. Also, using the feature, you can use a paid app on all the Windows 8 devices that are connected together using the same account, which can be a maximum of 5 devices.
