Backup Tweets with RSS Reader
Twitter lets you generate RSS feed for every Twitter profile. You can find the RSS link on the right sidebar of your Twitter homepage. You can also visit other users’ profiles and find their Twitter RSS feed link. Click on the RSS link. A page will appear as shown in the screenshot below. Copy that address. You have to paste this address in your RSS feed reader. Now sign in to your Google reader account (or any other feed reader for that matter). On the left, click on “Add a subscription” link. Paste the address you copied in the previous step and click on “Add” button. Now Google reader will index all your tweets. Note that it will not backup your old tweets. Tweetbackup
Tweetbackup is a great Twitter backup web app. It stores your tweets in the cloud and you can export them in CSV, RSS, Text, HTML formats. You can use it easily via the secure Oauth authorization process. No need to give your password. It will backup your last 3200 tweets. It can backup as many Twitter accounts as you want.
Tweetake
Tweetake is a nice tool that downloads all your tweets, DM, favorite tweets, followers, friends etc on your computer. It exports the data in CSV format. It requires secure Oauth authentication process too.
Backupify
It creates an XML file for all your twitter updates (previous updates too). Its basic version with 2GB storage comes free of cost and Premium version with 10GB storage is also free till it is in beta. So that’s how you can backup your Twitter updates effectively.
